Design and IT capabilities

The company is equipped with state of the art computer systems for both design and project management, complete network information systems incorporating internet and emailing facilities.  The hardware includes latest HP NSLH4 (RAM 512MB Hard disk 72GB - Processor Intel Pentium III 550MHZ Zeon) network server, large number of high-tech computers, scanning, printing & plotting machines, CD writers etc. The design section is equipped with the latest software packages like AutoCAD 2006, STRUCAD 3D DESIGN and DETAILING PACKAGE for structural steel and mechanical works and EAGLE POINT for earthworks etc.

The company is equipped with Enterprise Resource Planning software (Tetra CS3) and latest project management packages (Primavera & Microsoft Project).  The satellite telephone, cellular telephones and radio communication networks enhances the company's communication capabilities.

Engineering

H. Young has highly qualified skilled, experienced and well-motivated group of local and international Engineers who have successfully executed many complicated and challenging engineering contracts.

Fabrication Facilities

The company has adequate equipment and facilities to execute a wide range of projects within and without Kenya .  The welding quality and capability like Automatic SAW and Girth Welders combined with the quality assurance (NDT equipment personnel) provide the local manufacturing facilities to match the requirements of the project.

High capacity rolling machine rolling up to 40mm x 3mtrs thick plates, bending machines up to 500T on capacity.  Automatic Profile Cutting and the wide range of welding machines (including latest automatic submerged arc welding machines & girth welding machines, plasma cutting) are ideally suited for the manufacture of light fabrication and heavy fabrication.

The company has invested in robust heavy earthworks and civil works equipment.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Quality Control and Quality Assurance is a major component of our production.  Continuous in process quality control is part of the many Total Quality Management tools that the company emphasizes.  The quality levels have been certified on a global level by: Japanese (IHI, Sumitomo Construction, MHI, Hitachi Plant); German (Krupp Polysius, Haver & Boecker); British (Booker Tate, Rolls Royce, Fletcher Smith Ltd, Weir Pumps Ltd); Canadian (Acres International, Tiomen); South African (John Thompson, Ilovo, Girder Naco, MDM, Bateman); Australian (Lycopodium, Ausenco); American (Power Engineers). To support the Quality Control, the company has state of the art civil works laboratories and NDT equipments.

Installation / Erection Work Capabilities

Rapid deployment erection teams have given the company a competitive edge. The company has a range of cranes with the capacity of 135T, combined with a large fleet of cranes, trucks, trailers, diesel generating sets, welding generators, welding machines, lifting equipment, hoists, jacks, etc.  We are capable of doing tough and challenging erection works in remote areas.

The company has an impeccable record of NO Litigation or disputes with its clients or suppliers in its 52 years history.
